Shots Fired Near Elementary Schools In Central Pennsylvania: Police

Shots were fired near An elementary school in central Pennsylvania on Wednesday, Nov. 30, authorities say.

Harrisburg police were called to a report of shots fired near South 20th and Derry streets around 8:30 a.m., according to a release by the department.

Upon arrival, the police canvassed the area and found shell casings in the area of Shellis and Ice streets close to Melrose Elementary in the 2000 block of Berryhill Street and Scott Elementary and Rowland Intermediate School in the 1900 block of Derry Street. 

No victims or suspects were identified, according to the police.

Officers checked with the Harrisburg School District to make sure students and staff were safe.
